The EMA has a Volunteer Unit made up of people who desire to give back to their community in helpful ways.
These Volunteers are perhaps the most visible part of EMA, as they respond to a variety of situations and events in service to the public including:
Weather Spotting,
Planning, Training and Exercising,
Public Events, and First Response Page-Outs.
BECOME PART OF THE TEAM!
Are you retired and looking for ways to be active in your community? Are you interested in first response as a possible job opportunity and would like to get some hands on experience in that area? Do you have a first response background on emergency scenes that you are not currently using and would like to? Looking for avenues to put your weather spotting training and HAM Radio license to use?
If you’re interesting in helping, feel free to call or email our office at 765-472-7008 or mcema@miamicountyin.gov to set up a time to come and talk to us!
You can also download our Volunteer Application and return it to us for consideration in joining the EMA Volunteer Unit.
