  • This assessment is what is used to supply the funds to pay the cost of recycling the materials that are recycled. Every property owner in the county with a residence, dwelling, or business is assessed. The bill is sent to the actual deeded owner, and is not sent to contract buyers.

  • The Recycling District has a variety of programs to assist you in diverting certain materials from the landfill. These include 10 traditional recycling drop off locations throughout the county, 1 drop off location in Peru, old tire disposal, old medicine and use sharps collection sites, appliance drop off, electronic waste recycling and disposal, household hazardous waste collection, fluorescent bulb collection, 1 beautification (clean up) day, and educational programs for presentation to groups.
