  • According to Indiana Code, there is a variety of persons who can perform a marriage ceremony.
    Members of the clergy; including a priest, minister, bishop, rabbi, imam, etc., may perform marriages. In addition, a magistrate, judge, clerk or deputy clerk of the Circuit Court or a clerk or clerk-treasurer of a city or town may perform a wedding ceremony.

  • At the time of initial application, there is a one-time fee that is due.

    - Resident - The fee is $29 if at least one applicant is a resident of Miami County.

    - Non-Resident - The fee is $69 if neither applicant is a Miami County resident.

    We will accept payments of cash or money orders only; we do not accept personal checks for the marriage license application fees.

  • Applicants under the age of 18 must have the consent of their parents or guardians and one of these forms of identification.
    Applicants who are ages 18 or older must provide one of these forms of identification at the time of license application:
    - A valid driver's license
    - Current state-issued identification card
    - Original certified birth certificate
    - Military identification
    - Passport

  • Since 2005, Miami County, Indiana does not require the prospective bride to provide a blood test at the time of the marriage application.

  • Males must be 18 years of age or older in order to marry in the state of Indiana. Female applicants under the age of 18 must have the consent of their parents or guardian.
    Additionally, female applicants ages 15 and 16 must have a court order before they apply for a marriage application.
