We know the Importance of childhood vaccinations and other services and it is our goal as soon as we can begin to offer the services safely we will do so,

the Miami County Health Department will begin vaccinations again starting April 21st; please call for appointment 472-3901 X1216 or 1228 we will take your information and get back to you with our next available appointment as soon as possible.

 -We are giving preference to children 18 months and younger.

-Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this Pandemic.

 

The County Government Offices are not open to the PUBLIC the health department door will remain locked to prevent “walk ins” when you arrive for your child’s vaccine appointment please ring the bell

or call 472-3901 X 1216 and you will be let in  for your child’s scheduled appointment. Vital Records will remain closed to the public until May 5th- any changes will be updated.

 

The Miami County Health Department is asking that if you need the services of VITAL RECORDS DEPT. for a birth certificate, death certificate- please call 472-3901 X1228, many of the services are available through the mail, phone, or online.

This will assist the health department in not having large gatherings in our waiting room.

 

The following are guidelines when we again open our doors to the public beginning May 5, 2020

  • Adults will be asked to wear a mask (homemade mask or bandanna)
  • Hand hygiene
  • Cover cough and sneeze
  • Do not come into the Health Dept for services if you are ill
  • Do not walk in to schedule your child’s vaccines...please call 765-472-3901 X1216 or 1228

 

TB testing done on MONDAY only from 8am to 9am and read on WEDNESDAY only 8am to 9am... the testing is $13.00 we only accept cash payable at the time of service. Please call for appointment to verify the nurse will be available

 

We are NOT testing for the Coronavirus at the health department

 

The Miami County Health Department is NOT a Doctor’s office or a Medical Clinic if you are ill and need to be seen call your primary care giver or go to a medical clinic. CALL ahead to a doctor’s office, clinic, or hospital if you have symptoms of FEVERCOUGH, Short of Breath.... this will avoid any unnecessary exposure of staff and others....

 

Vaccine records are available for $2.00 cash. You will be asked to complete a release of information form prior to release of a vaccination record.

 

Do NOT bring your child in if you or the child are ill with a cough, fever, breathing problems, or have been exposed to someone that is ill with a Respiratory infection. 

 

 

Miami County Health Department has specific guidelines we have to follow please refer to the ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

 

We ask that you bring ONLY the child getting vaccinated however, we do understand if you need to bring other children also, must bring the child’s Medicaid card to each appointment. MCHD is required to check the Medicaid status at each visit.

 

-Must bring Medicaid Card to each appointment, Indiana State Health Department

-requires that we verify Eligibility at each appointment

-We cannot vaccinate those with private insurance

-We can vaccinate if uninsured.

 

COME at your scheduled time as we are SEPARATING the appointments, in order to PREVENT A GATHERING in our waiting room.

 

The Health Department will take every opportunity to protect the public health and ourselves as we begin to vaccinate children:

-Miami County Health Department staff will be wearing masks during contact with the public. We ask that if adults coming in have homemade masks please wear them when visiting the health department.

-YOU will be asked to WASH your hands and USE SANITIZER
