[ARCHIVED] Courthouse and Annex closing information.

public notice

For the safety of the citizens and employees amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Miami County Board of Commissioners have created the following policy:

 Beginning March 17, 2020, for 2 weeks or until further notice, the Miami County Courthouse and Annex buildings will be closed to the general public all day on Monday and Friday. Tuesday – Thursday the Courthouse will only be open for those who are already scheduled for court and will be screened as they enter the building. All Miami County employees will be reporting to work at the Miami County Courthouse and Miami County Annex buildings, given they are in good health. All employees and court attendees MUST enter and exit through the north entrance located on 5th Street. No exceptions. We are taking steps to continue business for our citizens as best we can. You can conducted business via phone, by mail or email. For your benefit of the citizens, we will not take in person payments until further notice. Citizens can contact the county offices to discuss payment options. It will be up to each office to make arrangements to adjust to daily business.

 These actions may seem extreme or disruptive to your daily life, but if we take steps now, and make decisions that are preventive, we will protect the most vulnerable among our county, while still providing essential services to our community in the long run. This decision was made after significant consultation and collaboration with the Miami County Health Department Health Officer. All after hour meetings, including, but not limited to County Council, Board of Commissioners, Planning and Zoning, etc. are hereby postponed until further notice. We are in unprecedented times and ask that everyone be flexible, understanding, patient, and cautious. This situation is constantly evolving and we will keep you informed as we learn new information.

 Courthouse offices can be reached by phone at 765-472-3901.
