The Miami County Highway Department, 2180 N. Mexico Rd., Peru, Indiana 46970, is currently seeking truck drivers/laborers with a valid (CDL A or B). Driver/laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a dump truck, plowing snow, hauling salt & sand, asphalt, stone, and materials for county roadway maintenance. Driver/Laborer will maintain municipal and rural roads in Miami County, Indiana.

Employment is first shift, with weekends, holidays and nights off unless there is a snow, ice, water or wind storm emergency.  Position is for a forty-hour work week with occasional overtime due to inclement weather.  Employment at Miami County Highway Department offers competitive wages, paid time off, PERF retirement, health, vision, and dental insurance.  

Hourly pay is $17.69 with an increase in 2022 to $18.35.
