The Miami County Highway Department, 2180 N. Mexico Road, Peru, IN 46970, is currently seeking (1) full time position for a Diesel Truck Mechanic. 

The incumbent serves as a Mechanic for the Highway Department and will work along with the Head Mechanic helping to maintain and repair vehicles, dump trucks, and equipment.  

Duties: Performs a variety of maintenance and repair duties. Inspects, cleans, and repairs equipment. Conducts computer diagnostic test to identify problem and orders parts for repair. Works with Head Mechanic to schedule outside vendor/company to make repairs to equipment when necessary. 

Operates a variety of hand or power tools, included but not limited to: cutting torch, grinder, pressure washer, drill press, loader, service trucks, and welding. 

Qualification:   Certification in Diesel Mechanics, or may have (3) years prior experience. CDL Class A or B, or willing to obtain one within (6) months. Must pass a drug and alcohol screening. Able to lift or move 40 lbs.
