Miami County 911 Job Openings

We are looking for people who are willing to challenge themselves.


You will (at minimum):

  • Answer incoming emergency and non-emergency phone calls for the entire county.
  • Dispatch appropriate police, fire, rescue, and emergency medical response agencies to emergency situations.
  • Provide pre-arrival medical instructions (as needed.)
  • Manage radio communications.
  • Operate a Computer Aided Dispatch System (CAD.)
  • Maintain the status of all plice, fire, ems, emergency response agencies, and command personnel during emergency situations.

Must have:

  • Ability to work under hihg stress environments, to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency.
  • Ability to see, read, and verify the accuracy of ALI and ANI information.
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts 6 am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • No Felony convictions
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work any shift

Starting pay for part time is $14.50/hour. If moved into full time position $16.57/hour plus benefits.

Applications are due on or before testing which is scheduled for Sunday, January 26th at 4pm at the Miami County Sheriff’s office.
