About This Office
The Department of Weights and Measures seeks to ensure that consumers receive
full measure or count when they purchase commodities. There are no fees
associated with our services, everything we do is funded by the county.
The following
services are provided by the Division of Weights and Measures:
All inspection equipment is certified
annually
by the State of Indiana's own Metrology Laboratory which uses volumetric
standards that are traceable to those of the
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Indiana is one
of only six state laboratories in the nation to become certified under NIST's
National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program.
