Are Sheriff Sales the same as Real Estate Tax Sales?

No, they are not.

 

Sheriff Sales are the result of mortgage foreclosures and are ran by the Sheriff's Office 2 or 3 times per month.

 

On the other hand, Real Estate Tax Sales come about after someone becomes delinquent in paying their property taxes.  Real Estate Tax Sales are run once per year by the county Treasurer.
