About the Registrar's Office
 

The Miami County Registrar's Office staff is involved in the preparation, processing, and issuance of birth and death certificates  for events that took place in Miami County, Indiana.

This office maintains birth and death records that begin in October of 1882.  The State of Indiana did not require the filing of a birth or death certificate until 1907, however.

Because of this, the recordings between 1882 and 1907 are few.  This also means that any such records were not filed with the state during this time, they are only available on a local basis.  If the birth or death during this time is not recorded in this office, then it is not available.
