Volunteers, You
are Needed!

Without the help of volunteers, the
county's resources would be strained in an emergency. The simple fact is
that your local Health Department cannot do it all alone. Despite what we
see in the news, emergencies really are a local problem and your community needs
you.
Who do we need to volunteer? We
can always use all kinds of help, but the most critical areas we need assistance
with are people with:
 |
Cultural and language expertise |
|
 |
Medical professionals |
|
 |
Information technology |
|
 |
Community resources |
|
There are a few things we expect from
our volunteers. First of all, you need to have your own transportation.
You must be available for a public health emergency, and when the time comes
you'll need to be able to answer questions in depth. Any task assignments
you receive will be based upon the skills information that you provide to us.
To apply to be a volunteer, you may
print out an
application and either mail it or bring it in to us. You may also stop
by our office in the County Annex building at 25 Court Street room 203 from 8:00
a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications are also available
at the County Nurse's office in room 108 in the Miami County Courthouse from
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Please contact us
if you have any additional questions.
