Processing soil reports
Plan reviews
Pre-approval inspections for septic systems
Tattoo & body piercing establishment inspections, permits and complaints
Public swimming pool inspections and complaints
Investigations of unsanitary living conditions
Investigating trash complaints
Investigating hazardous material incidents  
Investigating animal bites and animal welfare  
Investigating the proper disposal of animals that have died  
Well water testing of certain establishments  
Processing of water reports for certain establishments  
Stream pollution investigations  
Air quality complaints including mold and smoke  
Vector control  
West Nile Virus (mosquito control)  
Other varmint problems  


The Environmental Health Specialist offers numerous documents on the proper care of septic systems, mosquito control and other responsibilities.  Visit the Environmental Health Resources page for more information on these documents.

Further, any animal bites in the county are reported to this office, and the Environmental Health Specialist ensures that the animal control officer is called and that the proper quarantine of biting animals is followed.

Report generation, letters for the environmental area, and covering for the Environmental Food Specialist when that person is out, are done by this office.
