REQUEST FOR AUDIENCE

MIAMI SUPERIOR COURT 1
Judge David Grund came before the Council to address his requested 2010 budget. Judge Grund had to schedule his vacation at the first of the year and will not be here during the budget hearing process. He did request a 5% raise for his staff (his salary is paid by the State) and he did move $2500 from the 01 petit juror line to the 03 equipment and contracts line. Judge Grund said that he did that because he has one contract that is $2000 and that doesn’t leave anything for equipment. The rest of his budget stayed the same.

MCEDA
Mrs. Cristy Householder of MCEDA addressed the Council regarding a new company starting up in Miami County called Riverside Travel Trailer, Inc. and it is where Timberland used to be. Ken and Sherry Licklider are local investors in Riverside. The Lickliders are asking the County for a lease buy-down to help them get started. The Incentive Committee met and is recommending a $30,000 a year lease buy-down agreement for a total of 5 years, the first 2 years to be paid quarterly and the last 3 years annually. In return Riverside will employ 30 by August 31, 2009, 60 by March 31, 2010 and 85 by July 31, 2011. It is also agreed that all taxes will be remain current.
