Minor Traffic Offences

Traffic Violation Division
1. If you wish to plead not guilty to the charge, you must appear on the
date and time stated on the uniform traffic citation, or notify the court by
mail before scheduled court date, stating not guilty plea. Please
note that if you choose to appear on the date stated on citation to plead not
guilty, that the trial will not be held on that day.
2. If you wish to plead guilty, you may do so in person at any time
before your appearance date during office hours in the Miami County Clerk's
office located in the Courthouse, 25 N. Broadway, Peru, IN 46970. Telephone
765-472-3901 ex. 257. Please allow 2 weeks for Clerk's Office to receive your
ticket.
OR
Appearance by mail - if you wish to plead guilty to the charge by mail, you
must:
(A) Read and sign the waiver and plea of guilty form (back of Citation)
(B) Return ticket along with the total costs (check below) in the Form of
a money order or bank certified check, payable to Miami County Clerk, P.O. box
184, Peru, IN 46970.
3. To pay online by Credit Card or Debit Card, you can go to
PayTrust Solutions.com or you
may call 1-866-480-8552. (A nominal
service fee does apply to online and phone payments.)

I, the undersigned, do hereby enter my appearance and plea of Guilty to the
offense charged. I understand the signature below is an Admission to the
violation and will have the same effect as a judgment of court. Also, the
record of judgment will be sent to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles of Indiana
or the state from where my driver's license was issued.
Schedule of fine and costs: Court costs of $109.50 are in addition to the
following violation fines with exception of seat belt violation.

You have thirty (30) days past your court date to pay the violation. If
payment goes past this allotted time, it will be sent to BMV for suspension of
license and a $25.00 late fee will be added to court cost and fines. Court costs
and fines are subject to change without notice.

information. Our hours are Monday thru Friday, from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.
Note: Miami County has three (3) Traffic Courts. Please check your ticket before
mailing. If it is not Miami Superior court, please contact the specified court.
